We're heading off on our annual pilgrimage to the deep, dark south to spend Christmas with my mother in about 5 hours. Internet availability is dubious at best so I thought I'd better say Merry Christmas to all before we go. I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas!!

Sorry I didn't notice this sooner, but I had millions of journals(people seem to make journals daily nowadays), that hid this one. D:
Enjoy your trip, and stay safe.

I hope you had a great Christmas! The trip wasn't bad... None of the usual Christmas drama, but I suppose we weren't there long enough for any wars to break out!
I did, thank you.
Haha. Your family don't get along?

Erm... Well... Uh... I'm not so sure you can call it a family any more... It's just me and my mother and my dear Owen. My mothers family were never close, and since my grandmother died it kind of fell apart. When she was alive we used to have family Christmases with my uncles, I've never actually met my mothers sister... They've been feuding for eons...
But my mother usually has some description of tantrum at Christmas... One year she came up here to stay with us and got in a fling about something and drove all the way home before Christmas day, another year she put too much brandy in the trifle and got in a hissy because no-one ate it. She always makes enough food to feed 30 people and moans about it going to waste, or having to eat it for weeks afterward... *sigh* And I always miss the cats and worry about them, and Owen is cranky after driving all that way, staying for 2 minutes then driving all the way back, and usually she drags us to the cemetery to say 'Merry Christmas' to all the dead folks, so it's not really that enjoyable... But we do it to keep her happy. And this year she slept through 3 movies, tried to get us to eat until we burst (but she didn't put alcohol in the trifle!!), looked at me as if I'd grown another head when I cried during the saddest movie ever, showed no interest what so ever in seeing my art (as usual!!) and moped about the 'good old days' when my father was alive (but we didn't make it to the cemetery!)... But there was no arguing and nobody died!
Sounds like a bit of my family with the bitchyness, lol.
My grandma hasn't heard from my mum's sister(bitch, lol) in ages, about a year or two. I look on the bright side of it, atleast she isn't bothering her. I mean, good riddance.
I remember you telling me once before. :/
My opinion is, alcohol doesn't go in food. Most of the time it just kills the lovely flavour of the food.
Umm... She can just reheat it. I'd love it, not having to cook for awhile!
Aww, you need a vacation!
...*blinks* A cemetary on Christmas, that's really got to be depressing.
Phew, no alcohol hidden in the food! "looked at me as if I'd grown another head"
Phew! But I still think you need a vacation. XD

I'm not 100% sure alcohol really goes in anything... It's a poison after all! I can't see what the big deal is...
That's OK... My mother often looks at me as if I've grown another head. Once I get over being annoyed that she does it, it is kinda funny!
Haha... Go away for the holidays and need a vacation!
